I'm back!
Just returned from Nebraska and the funeral and support of Dena and her girls was moving to say the least. Her family is outstanding and the small towns of Nebraska were also outstanding in their support. Every single person who came out in the cold to hold a flag and/or sign as Rob passed by...I just hope you know your support was appreciated and absolutely stunning. For a military wife like myself whose husband is still in harms way, it is breath-taking to realize that there are still people and true American Patriots who remember what is going on in this world and that you realize the sacrifice being made.
I am only going to share a few pictures and stories---- there are MANY of them but a few that I just want to keep to our little group. We shared some precious moments together that I will always cherish.
I was honored to drive Rob's truck in the procession from Lincoln Airport to the funeral home in Osceola. Dena and Ali were my passengers and we followed closely behind the Patriot Guard motorcycles who surrounded Rob's hearse.
I also drove the truck after the funeral to the grave site and once again, just many many people who stood with their flags in support of Rob's sacrifice. They surrounded the grave site also.
The 3 days of activities was emotionally exhausting and I am so glad that we ended our time together with just the 6-4 cav girls. There was snow angels made (I have the picture to prove it!!), snowball fights where we played like children and knew that Rob was looking down on us laughing, and something about a hot tub.....it was nice!
Here we are!!! My dear girlfriends of the 6-4 Cav!!
Jennifer, Ali, Dena, Me, Brittany and Michelle is front and center

Thank you for telling us about the memorial. I also read Dena's posting on her blog and I was in tears reading them both! You are a truly wonderful friend for Dena to have and I'm sure she knows that. My thoughts are with them and with you and your family too.
Yes, thanks for sharing that, it brings it home a lot more to those who may just take it all for granted, and forget the price to be paid by some for our freedom.
You are a brave true friend, I pray for you all, and love you all so much. G.
Why do I have the feeling that it was you that started the snowball fight?
I have looked at all the media coverage of the funeral on-line. Very sad day for everyone, but Dena was surrounded by those who knew how to love and care for her in the ways she needed.
