Wow...I am going on a month with nothing on this blog. I just go through these moods where I just don't feel like it. But its not like I am sitting around doing nothing these days either!
I had a spring craft show that I needed to pull somethings together for and that kept me going for several weeks, besides accomplishing internt and local orders. The show wasn't all that great so I probably won't be jumping into any future spring shows in the future. Fall is the best time for all that work!
Keith's grandfather also passed away which was terribly sad. I did a Red Cross message for him even though I knew there was no way he was coming home. The Red Cross are the official people who verify everything to make sure it is true and send a message to let the Chain of Command know what is going on. When the Red Cross asked me the name of Keith's grandfather all I could say was "Papa Baucom." Then I was embarrassed and told them to ask for "Mr. Baucom because the entire time I knew him, his name was Papa to me. Well they wouldn't go for it! Can you believe that? So I had to call back later and get it all straighten out.
Then my sister came to visit and we had a good time shopping and hanging out with friends. It took nearly 3 days to recover from that!
She has pictures up at her blog
www.stickygraffiti.blogspot.comSo now onto the Master Bedroom redo--- by looking at past pictures I realized that my bedroom really needed an update...so slowly but surely I think I have pulled it together. Everything in this bedroom we have aquired since living here in Texas. In the most ideal situation I would be painting the walls...but I don't feel like it! And we are leaving this house in a short time anyhow. So I concentrated on all the things that could move with us.
First thing I decided is I really wanted the bedroom to have a hotel feel. The marriott is what I had in mind, but I am also sensible enough to know that I had to add my own things to this bedroom too.
Here are the new linens. It is white monogrammed duvet cover with brown trim and a light blue quilt and shams. Maybe I could iron it a little...
I also have simple blue curtains which have my favorite feature-- the grommet at the top. I have two windows so these are on both.
Close up of the monogram on the duvet.
Bought this great bench for the end of my bed at an antique store in historical Georgetown while my sister was here. It has my name written all over it!! I love it because it is fairly low and doesn't cover all the great details on my bed.
And that is pretty much it-- there is a lot more in my bedroom since it is a good size room but this is all the new stuff for sure.
Also here is something else new that we are seeing a lot of lately too! YIKES
