Happy 38th Keith!!

Even though I only got to see him for about an hour this morning before I had to go run off to Jadyn's school to volunteer--- I wanted to give him a shout-out!!

Happy Birthday Keith!!!

I don't even know if he reads this blog or not- probably only when he is really bored.
His soldiers bought him a Cowboy's Cake and a cheesecake yesterday to celebrate before he had to leave today. Keith thought that was the coolest thing ever. I guess that means he treats his soldiers right and they paid him back.

Today Keith gets to spend his birthday on a plane traveling the country. I don't feel too bad for him though because I am sure he will have fun with all the guys.

I got a call from Brittlyn's mom yesterday asking when she can come down to see us. We haven't set anything in stone but I am so excited to have her here whenever she chooses to come-- Can't wait!

Workin' It

I don't know what I am exactly working, but I am trying. I just got through hell week and now I have some days to myself this week. I have been trying to work the vinyl cutter and doing some fun things. I made these 6x6 doorhangers. So they so dang cute

And I drug Keith 70 miles out of the way to go to a craft show that I was thinking about doing in the future. While I was there I bought this thing-- had to have it- don't know what to do with it!

It is fairly big so it can't just go anywhere. What is it supposed to be exactly? I don't know, but I will figure something out. I guess a plant holder, but it would have to be a really big plant.

The Cowboys won again this week so it will be happy week for us. Maybe the kids will act better in school!! Keith's birthday is Friday so I am trying to do some shopping for him. Hopefully he will dig what I get him.

Change

I am all about change which is unlike most people. I find myself getting bored easily if something doesn't change in my life on a regular basis- I guess that is why I enjoy the military lifestyle so much. People often say to me, "I don't know how you do it" but really, I don't know how I would not do it and still be a sane and likeable person. Fresh starts, new friends, great adventures is what makes my life exciting. I don't want to be doing the same thing 5 years from now that I am doing today. That would be my definition of true watching the paint dry, grass grow boredom.

So there have been a few changes around here, nothing earth shattering, but change all the same. Here is one that Keith doesn't know about yet. This little one showed up last night and I am still debating what to do.

Bridger was just asking me for a second cat and I told him NO WAY. He must be using the power of the Law of Attraction because I swear it wasn't 24 hours and this thing shows up. We started calling it Fanta because we want to keep with the carbonated beverage theme of naming our animals. Lord, just what we needed--- a change in our animal population!

Another change that is about to happen (haven't taken the leap quite yet) is the fact that I bought salmon yesterday. I had plans to eat some of it yesterday also, but didn't.

Why is this considered change you ask? Well, I haven't eaten any meat since March. While that may not be such a long time, you try it and tell me how is goes for you. I blogged a while ago about how disgusting the meat industry is and the more informed I became, the more repulsed I became towards meat of all kinds.

For a month, I tried to eat vegan which means you eat nothing that comes from an animal so that would include eggs and milk. 90% of processed foods contain just that so you pretty much eat fruit and vegtables. I could only do it for a short time and I kept finding myself in awkward positions where I just couldn't eat anything at all, therefore I thought I would just experiment with vegetarianism.

And I hold the position that if we can have a mutual respectful relationship with animals where we both benefit, then eating eggs and having milk wouldn't be so bad. Therefore I spend a tad bit extra on groceries to ensure that I am doing my part and following my values.

With all that said, I can honestly say that I am not feeling at my healthiest these days and have come to the conclusion that I need to eat some meat. I am not very creative with the non-meat options available and I know I am seriously lacking on protein in my diet. So I thought I could add in a little salmon and see what happens. I still won't do red meat (and most likely never will) and I still can't think about chicken either. The reasons are numerous but I don't get into it here.
So that is my big diet change in a nutshell-------

My vinyl cutter will be here Monday---that is the biggest change of all because it will keep me busy for hours a day---I have been working on a few things this weekend.

There are more around here somewhere.
I have been trying to write down my favorite signs that I see out and about. There are so many of them that it would keep one busy for years- but here are two of my favorite sayings for signs right now.

All unattended children will be given a free Expresso and puppy

Nobody gets in to see the wizard!
Not nobody, not no how!

SLAMMED

That's right- again I am so busy I don't which way to turn. And unfortunately when that happens it usually paralyzes me so I don't do anything. I hate that. I am already late for a meeting this morning- yet I am sitting here blogging! Typical.

Anyhow, just a little recap.
1. Cowboys won last night, so that mean a happy household in the Tyler family.
2. This week I get my vinyl cutter so that I may move on with Swanky Graffiti
3. I secured a place in a November craft show that I am estatic about!!
4. Got my table saw set up yesterday and I even used it and didn't have nightmares about it last night. There is a warning sign on it that show a hand with it's fingers cut off- stuff like that makes me a nervous wreck.
5. Installed a new doorbell pusher this weekend. I replaced the $5 builder one for a $15 cute one-- love it.
6. Best of all- got the molding up in the bathroom. After two weeks of trying to learn how to cut the angles right- even bought a book about it- we still could not figure it out. So out of frustration we went back to the home improvement store and bought corner pieces so all we had to do is make straight cuts. It still took a couple of hours to get it all done --- but it is done!

Several weeks ago I painted this bathroom yellow-- I even painted the ceiling yellow because it was all beige before and I didn't want yellow walls and a beige ceiling. After I did it, I decided it looked all wrong and went back and painted the ceiling white. And because the walls are textured it is hard to make the paint look just right. So it was decided that molding is the the only way to go. Jadyn's room is next!!!
